Hey! In my first post I figured I would introduce myself! Im April, im 17 years old and have been riding horses since the day I can remember. Im from Bakersfield California, and I love anything horse, goat, and poultry related. I especally love finding good products that work, supporting small tack businesses and of course showing horses. I love a more vintage cowgirl look yet you'll find me in yoga pants and in a sweatshirt at the barn. I ride primarily Western but I do occasonally throw that English saddle on. Ive done barrel racing, western pleasure and trail riding. But most importantly, I want to better myself everyday. Including you who is reading this right now. I never had expensive show clothing or a nice Harris show saddle, I never had the $20,000 finnished horse, or the nice expensive rig. I may have better tack, clothing and horses now, but I get it. All that takes is hard work. Its hard seeing your peers handed nice stuff, but girl you got this!

So how did I get motivated?

A lot of my motivation to do better and to grow was from those girls who had everything back when I showed more and at bigger shows. It motivated me to save my money, watch youtube videos and work and practice twice as hard as they do. Yes I still have some limits and I have accepted those. But I feel like Ive come farther than ever. And I can't wait for what 2019 has in store.
